Founded in 1996, The Kanata Children's Chorus (KCC) includes a Senior Choir for children 10 to 15 and
a Junior Choir for ages 6 and up, with choristers representing many of the communities in the Ottawa area.
KCC performs a wide variety of music with emphasis given to Canadian repertoire, including several
commissioned pieces, and holds at least two public concerts per year.
In 2003, the choir commissioned a special work titled "A Gallery of Song - Spirit of the Land", which evolved
from the desire to bring young people in contact with the incredible legacy of images left by the Group of Seven.
The commissioning included nine choral vignettes, one for each of the Group plus Thomson and Carr.
The chorus has also performed in concert with many other choirs, at Government of Canada functions and at
benefits for Canadian charitable foundations.
