Conductor: Mark Bell
Arriving on the Toronto choral scene in 1999, The Riverdale Youth Singers (RYS) choir involves
over a hundred choristers ages 7 and up. They perform winter and spring concerts within the Riverdale
community and at various festivals and concerts throughout the Greater Toronto Area.
Recently, the Choir achieved several first place standings at the Kiwanis Festival of Greater Toronto.
Other performance highlights include singing at Toronto Raptors basketball games, participating in the
Milk International Festival of the Arts and performing at the historic sites of Ste. Marie-Among-The-Hurons
and the Martyrs' Shrine.
The RYS is dedicated to providing exceptional musical education and artistic excellence in choral music
performance while fostering the self-esteem and personal growth of the choristers. In addition, the Singers are encouraged to contribute to the welfare of the local
community through their performances and other activities.
For the Ontario Sings concert, RYS will be joined by the visiting Peterborough Children's Chorus.
