Saugeen Children's Choir
Choir Director: Henriette Blom
Since its formation 18 years ago, The Saugeen Children's Chorus has been providing excellent
training in choral music for girls and boys with unchanged voices between the ages of 9 and 18.
In addition to community involvement and concerts, the choir participates in activities such as choir camps,
trips, workshops, and music festivals. The Saugeen Children's Chorus has an outstanding record of musical
achievements including being awarded runners-up at the 2003 Ontario Music Festival Association provincial finals.
In previous years, the choir has enjoyed performance in international music festivals in Austria and England.
This year the choir is excited to be traveling to Montreal in May to perform and participate in a choir workshop
with 4 other children's choirs.
The Saugeen Children's Chorus is in its fourth year of direction by Henriette Blom and is accompanied by
Sahar Hassanien. This year the choir is made up of 33 dedicated children from Port Elgin, Southampton, Tiverton,
Kincardine and Ripley who attend weekly rehearsals in Port Elgin. As several of our choristers are from the Kincardine
area, the choir is pleased to present the Ontario Sings concert in Kincardine.
