Young Singers
Director: Anna Lynn Murphy
Since 1992, over 600 children from the Durham Region, ages 8 and up, have been part of Young Singers.
The choir regularly performs community concerts and at charitable events.
Their many performance highlights include singing for the Queen at Her Majesty's Golden Jubilee visit, performing
on Parliament Hill for the live national CBC broadcast of Canada Day 2000, and singing the national anthems at the
Sky Dome for the Toronto Blue Jays. Young Singers have traveled to England to participate in the Canterbury
International Choral Festival and perform at Salisbury and Canterbury Cathedrals. In July 2001, the Young Singers
toured the Maritimes with special performances in Charlottetown on Canada Day, in Halifax and with the "Men of the
Deeps" in Glace Bay.
Other notable performances include appearing on CBC Midday, CityTV Breakfast Television and Rogers Cable Television.
In 2002, they released their first CD, "Sing!".
